What’s included
What do our home care services include?
PrimeCare’s home care services are non-medical support delivered at home: personal care and bathing, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, mobility help, and transportation. We also provide specialized care for dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and stroke recovery, plus overnight, 24-hour, respite and post-hospital care.
Because these home care services are non-medical, families usually pay privately, and Medicare generally does not cover long-term custodial care (see Medicare’s long-term care page). Our caregivers are registered with the state, and you can read how California licenses home care organizations on the CDSS website.

Frequently asked questions
Home care services: your questions answered.
What do home care services include?
Home care services include personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, mobility assistance and transportation, plus specialized support for dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and stroke recovery. They are non-medical: support with daily living, not clinical treatment.
What is the difference between personal care, companionship and home support?
Personal care is hands-on help with bathing, dressing, mobility, feeding and toileting. Companionship focuses on conversation, safety supervision and daily engagement. Home support covers housekeeping, meals, medication reminders and errands. Many families combine all three in one care plan.
Does PrimeCare provide medical care?
No. PrimeCare provides non-medical home care. Our caregivers help with daily living and comfort and do not provide clinical or medical treatment. Our palliative support care complements, and does not replace, a client’s medical care plan.
Which home care service is right for my family?
Start with the situation. A few hours of help points to companionship or home support, memory changes point to dementia or Alzheimer’s care, a recent hospital stay points to post-hospital recovery care, and nights or constant supervision point to overnight or 24-hour care. A free in-home assessment confirms the right plan.
Do you offer overnight and 24-hour home care?
Yes. Overnight care provides night time supervision and assistance, and 24-hour home care provides continuous, around-the-clock support for people who need ongoing supervision at home.
How much do home care services cost?
The cost of home care services depends on the hours needed and the level of care. PrimeCare offers flexible scheduling with a 4-hour minimum shift. Contact our team for a personalized quote.
Does Medicare pay for home care?
Medicare generally does not cover non-medical, custodial home care. PrimeCare accepts private pay and private insurance, and coverage depends on your policy, so check with your insurer. Call us and we will help you understand your options.
Is PrimeCare licensed, and are caregivers background checked?
Yes. PrimeCare In-Home Support is a licensed home care organization in California, HCO #014700283. Every caregiver is a Registered Home Care Aide with the CDSS and completes fingerprinting and a criminal background check before working with clients.
What areas do you serve?
