What is respite care?
A break for you, steady care for them.
Caring for a loved one is one of the most meaningful things a person can do, but it can also be physically, emotionally, and mentally demanding. Whether you’re balancing caregiving with work, raising a family, or simply managing everyday life, it’s important to care for yourself too.
Respite care is temporary, non-medical home care that lets family caregivers take a break while their loved one stays safe, comfortable, and supported. At PrimeCare In-Home Support, care can be scheduled for a few hours, a full day, overnight, or on a recurring basis. It is part of our specialized care services.
Taking a break isn’t stepping away from your responsibilities. It’s an investment in your ability to keep providing the best possible care.

When respite care can help
Short breaks, taken regularly, prevent burnout.
Many caregivers wait until they feel completely overwhelmed before asking for help. Regular short breaks can reduce stress and help prevent caregiver burnout. Respite care may be right if you:

- Have work or personal commitments
- Need to attend medical appointments
- Are planning a vacation or weekend away
- Need temporary help after a family emergency
- Need help balancing caregiving with other responsibilities
- Want reliable support that keeps your loved one’s daily routine
Whether you need occasional help or scheduled relief each week, we’re here. Not sure what fits? We’ll help you decide.
